Why Ninja heading to Hollywood is a terrible idea

One of the most trending topics on Twitter lately is Tyler "Ninja" Blevins' Hollywood ambitions. Not content with being quite possibly the world's most popular streamer, he has set his sights on a Hollywood career.

According to a recent post by The Hollywood Reporter, he wants to have a go at different mediums, including voice acting, movies and so forth, to break out beyond streaming.

Why this is a terrible idea

The problem I see with his plan is that banking on your existing fame can only get you so far. He already is extremely marketable and has used this well, gaining enormous brand recognition in the process.

Movies and TV shows are completely different beasts to, say, merchandise and audience goers can be unforgiving at any attempts at a cash grab. Appearing in a TV show without any acting experience or training (even a little training is pretty bad) won't do Ninja any favours in the long term.

He will always be seen as the cameo who uttered 'that line' or appeared in a movie to become an inevitable meme.

Voice acting, too, takes time to get right and you can't shoot for the top without starting at the bottom.

If he wants to achieve a Hollywood career, Ninja should start small while learning the craft. He is still young and has plenty of time to perfect it.

This is only my opinion, though. It will be extremely interesting to see what he chooses to do next.
