Summits to watch out for: The Business of Indie Games Virtual Summit Rerun

No matter if you're an experienced game developer or are just starting out, it's important to find great resources to help you grow and make better games. YouTube, for example, has a wealth of tutorials, and there are numerous websites online to help you.

Summits can be a great way to listen to speakers offering invaluable advice on a range of topics, including marketing, finding funding, getting noticed by the gaming press and so on. One useful summit coming out later this month is a virtual summit organised by The Business of Indie Games

Taking place over five days from the 20th -24th August 2020, the virtual summit features a range of speakers from the gaming world addressing topics on the subjects of strategy, marketing and money. These include Tanya X.Short from Kitfox Games speaking about finance and raising funds on Kickstarter, Chris Howard tackling the topic of avoiding burnout, Chase Bethea's advice for creating compelling music and sound and creating a world class IP from Christian Fonnesbach.

Mobile game developers should watch out for day five, with speakers including Ustwo Games' CEO Maria Sayans, Gamenami's Leonard Lin and Alex Kozachenko from Hyperbeard Games.

With so much going on, the summit will have something for every developer. It's worth taking a look at the agenda to find out what topics you might be interested in. You can also browse the full list of speakers if you're particularly interested in hearing from someone.

For free access registration, visit their site and click on the big red button. You can also buy an All Access Pass, should you so wish, for $249. This will give you unlimited access to over 70 presentations from indie game devs, agents, publishers and many more.
