Marvel's Avengers' Spider-Man is exclusive PlayStation DLC: My Thoughts

The gaming press is reporting that Spider-Man will be available as free DLC for Marvel's Avengers next year. The catch? It's PlayStation exclusive, so will only be hitting the PlayStation 4 and 5, not the Xbox One, Series X, PC or Stadia.

Nothing about the game has made me interested yet. I'm a big fan of the comics and movies but this game doesn't appeal to me. While the graphics have been updated and I'm sure the final product will good, it doesn't have a wow factor I'd expect from a major franchise.

Not including Spider-Man has given me one less reason for wanting to preorder the game, let alone play it. Many potential players might feel the same way and buy it once all the characters have been released (such as Hawkeye, for example) or try it on a service like Game Pass.

Some might be asking if this is fair? On the one hand, no, as it denies a lot of a potential players a great character that might make the game worth playing. On the other, yes, since they own the rights and don't have to share the character. It's frustrating but the only thing you can do is vote with your wallets if you're unhappy.

As always, these are just my thoughts. Stay safe and take care.
